My 8 Tips for Holiday Hosting
Tis’ the season for hosting and it happens to be one of my favorite hobbies. Here are some tips for hosting this time of year in true Canvas Style fashion.
1. Invitations are Essential
First, set the tone with an actual invite instead of a simple text. My friend @MaryCatherineStudio_ designs the cutest stationary & invitations! A physical paper invitation is always beautiful but if you’re in a time crunch then Paperless Post has many festive digital options that will do just fine.

2. A Festive Dress Code Sets the Mood
Don’t forget to dress the part. I like to include the dress code in the invitation to set the tone. Whether it’s sparkles and sequins or tartan and jeans, telling guests what to wear takes the confusion out and helps set the tone for the party.

3. Make the Cleanup Easy
If you’re looking for fun without the mess, then try Lucy Grymes paper products that make cleaning up simple. Use her paper placemats and paper vase wraps to set the table and just toss in the trash after. Lucy generously gave us a discount code to share with you, use code CANVAS15 for 15% off your order.
I love how @lydiamenziescelebrates used Lucy Grymes products in her holiday tablescape! She's one of my favorite follows for party hosting and tablescape inspiration.

4. A Tablescape is Everything!
Decorations aren’t just for the mantle and tree. Make a centerpiece for your table by filling ornaments in a bowl. Add tree figurines or garland down the center of your table as you would a table runner to decorate your table.

5. Sneak in Some Favors to the Decor
One of my favorite party tricks is Instead of using a traditional napkin ring, opt for a Canvas Style bangle. These would be perfect for the holidays. Not only does it look beautiful but guests can keep it as a party favor or gift.

6. Signature Cocktails are a Must!
Get everyone in holiday spirit with a signature party cocktail. Jackson Morgan’s Peppermint Mocha is great for holiday cocktails or you can never go wrong with some bubbly garnished with cranberries.

7. Ask for Help When You Need It
Need in a hand in the kitchen, serving or setting the table? Check out Party Host Helpers with locations all over the country to help with all your party hosting needs.

8. Have Fun!
Lastly, make sure to include some entertainment. Either a great playlist you’ve pre-made on Spotify, a fun game to break the ice or a cookie or ornament swap to get everyone in the spirit. My friend @jmoliverart makes the cutest ornaments!
