My Kentucky Derby Party Must-Haves

Back in October Patricia (our publicist) and I went to Kentucky to shoot our equine collection. I figured there’s no better place than the derby capitol to capture the spirit. We had so much fun creating a derby party with Amanda of Dress and Dwell, Taylor Collins Ash of May There be Bubbly and Stephanie Burch of @StephWithStyleInKY. 

I thought I’d share some of my favorites from this shoot so you can put together your own derby party with some of these pieces and tips...

For Pete’s Sake Pottery is always a must! Susan is a Kentucky native and has an extensive derby collection full of platters, serving dishes and more. Oh and don’t forget our earring collection with her!

No party is complete without some sweet treats! Checkout Caroline’s Cakes for delicious cakes shipped right to your door and ready to serve. Indulge in In The Curious Kitchen’s bourbon balls. They’re dangerously delicious! 

When it comes to setting a table, Honey + Hank has a fun derby horse print for napkins and plates. The horses in the print are actually made up from the state shape of Kentucky, so cool! As a fashion lover, shopping for a derby outfit is always a favorite. Buru’s Teagan skirt is my go-to. It’s a statement and surprisingly very flattering on everyone. Brand Kate Leigh also makes beautiful dresses in a variety of colors. I love the ruffle collar wrap style and the fact that the brand is founded by a mother-daughter duo.
